Hi, I'm Conor and I would love the opportunity to become an intern during 2013/14. In such a fast moving & exciting industry, Belfast is the hub of all things awesome and you're at the helm, pushing the boundaries and setting standards for everyone.
I am currently an undergraduate in IMD at the University of Ulster. I live in Randalstown just at the top of Lough Neagh surrounded by fields. I'm a 20 year old male, around 6 foot and of average enough weight. I try to eat healthy most of the time but fail miserably, falling to the demon that is a chicken goujon.
I would describe myself as a bit of a sports fanatic and I like keeping active whether it is team sports such as GAA or just out running/cycling or in the gym to keep fit. When I am not out exercising I can be found taking photos on my Canon 1000D, reading up or on my mac trying to learn new and more challenging things to widen my knowledge, no matter if it is career or life related. I am a regular Refresh attendee and talk goer given any opportunity as you can see from Filly Campbell's Photography.
These talks bring people with similar interests together and you can tell, hear stories and share knowledge over a pint and for that reason I am a massive fan of getting out to meet new people. Being out going in this industry is very important. Everyone is very friendly and are much like ourselves really, wanting to learn, work and enjoy the craic.
I believe that to succeed in life you must fully apply yourself to get out what you put in. So when I attempt to do something I fully dedicate myself to it. I am very dependable, flexible, determined and have an ability to use my own initiative.
So far I have worked quite a lot in small teams or with a few individuals during projects in either university or a workplace. This has really helped me develop into an outgoing and easy to get on with person. I have gained so much experience working to tight deadlines under severe pressure and as a result I am not scared of getting down and dirty with work when needed.
Working in a print based start up business for a year which had a weekly reader base of 5,500, gave me a good footing to start off and has made me more determined and eager than ever to improve my skills in design and development of functional applications and web based work.
With emphasis now on creating mobile interfaces, bettering my knowledge is so important in the current market where the demand is so high. I want to be able to pride myself and your company on creating innovative, exciting work while crafting experiences for businesses & companies all round the world that people want to talk about, share and engage with using the latest cutting edge technologies across all platforms. Unfortunately, due to being a student the opportunities don't come up often to do this but if given the chance to work in your company this could be a possibility and give me the much needed and desired experience in the real world.
As a very competent IMD student in the University of Ulster so far my performance has been pretty good not dropping below 60% in any module and I love all our DES modules based in the Art College which consist of typography, photography, branding, wire framing, prototyping and much more.
